Often misunderstood, fats are viewed as the enemy of diet plans around the world. This is far from the truth. Fats are a necessary macronutrient and are the most dense source of energy the three macronutrients the body can ingest.
Due to the varying levels of complexities, the body must work harder at breaking down the more complex saturated fats. It is highly recommended that the majority of fats ingested are of the polyunsaturated variety. Too much saturated fat in one's diet has been known to increase cholesterol levels which can lead to a variety of health issues.
